Finland Litter 2023

Suomi Litter – born 6 December 2023

On Finland’s Independence Day, 6 December 2023, a litter was born whose theme is – quite fittingly – Finland. The Suomi litter consists of four beautiful kittens.

This litter is part of a special outcrossing project permitted by the Finnish FIFe member, Kissaliitto. The goal is to responsibly increase genetic diversity within the Ocicat breed. The father of the litter is Beppe (FI*SonSon Mountain’s Majesty), whose sire is an American Shorthair and dam an Ocicat.

The kittens were first registered in Kissaliitto with the EMS code XSH (OCI), meaning “other unrecognized shorthair breed” with Ocicat as the target breed. Two kittens, Usva and Sisu, have been re-registered as Ocicats through the breed recognition process (according to Kissaliitto and FIFe breeding and registration rules, section 9.2.3) and will be part of our breeding programme.

The mother of the litter, Tipsu, is from Anórien’s cattery. She is a sweet and calm cinnamon spotted Ocicat girl who loves to fetch toy balls. Tipsu’s sire is our own Reni from the Viking litter.
