Boardgame Litter – born 22 October 2024
Our Boardgame Litter was born at the end of October 2024. We had tried mating already during the previous winter, but Maisa developed a uterine infection, which fortunately was successfully treated with antibiotics. After that, we had to wait for the next heat, which finally came in August. Following veterinary advice, the mating had to take place during that next heat to minimize the risk of recurrence – but that meant the due date would fall right during my one and only international work trip. Luckily, Maisa’s breeder Hanna (FI*Vinkeä) kindly promised to help with the birth – a huge thank-you to her! The delivery and early kittenhood went well, and Maisa turned out to be a wonderful mother. Her milk was clearly nourishing, as the kittens grew evenly and thrived.
The dam of the litter is FI*Vinkeä Metka-Maisa (“Maisa”), a silver spotted Ocicat. The sire is our gentle brown spotted Ocicat gentleman, GIC FI*Northalla Smaug Of Erebor – also known as Maukka.
Interestingly, Maisa and Maukka both seemed to create two “clones” of themselves in this litter: two silver spotted girls and two brown spotted boys. All the kittens are curious, bold, affectionate – and very fond of food.
The board game theme was an easy choice, as both we and the foster family have enjoyed board games for decades. All the games these kittens were named after are also warmly recommended to fellow game enthusiasts. 😊

Reetu moved to Lapua in western Finland and now lives with a Russian Blue friend.

Mora moved to live with our former “Wood Litter” girl, Poppi.
FI*Northalla Nova Luna (OCI ns 24) – silver spotted female, nickname Luna
Luna stayed with us as part of our breeding programme and lives in the same foster home with her mother Maisa.
FI*Northalla Tikal (OCI ns 24) – silver spotted female, nickname Tiksu (now called Myy)
Tiksu moved in with our “Crow Litter” girl Naga, and the two are now best friends.
