Elsi and Calippo’s kittens have gotten their eyes open this week, and there are fourteen brand new pepper eyes wondering the world inside their dim and secure kitten nest. For now we will settle for a photo of one week old kittens, who just started to open their eyes. Soon enough there will be photos of kittens with their eyes open!
Elsi’s litter is the eleventh one for Northalla. The theme of this litter is about the fact that there were seven kittens in the litter. Seven is a mystical, holy number. Seven is the seeker of truth, thinker, one who sees beneath the illusions on the surface and will be able to identify the core, the essence. We thought of many good name candidates around this theme. There are many ensembles consisting of seven things: stars in Ursa Major, days in a week, dwarfs of a fairytale, and so on.
The lightest colored chocolate spotted boy is called Northalla Seventh Son, “Saku”. Seven Brothers by Aleksis Kivi is one of the most famous Finnish books, that all Finns probably have read in school. The seven brothers is a theme popular in other instances as well, such as the song Love Is Stronger Than Justice by Sting. Seventh son is also portrayed by Iron Maiden’s album and its name piece Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, which many regard of their best album ever.
A little bit darker than Saku, another chocolate spotted boy is Northalla Seventh Heaven, “Hevi”. The seventh heaven is the highest level of the symbolic heaven, the highest floor there is. The seventh heaven is the ultimate level of euphoria.
The darkest one of the chocolate spotted boys, who looks like his mom Elsi, is called Northalla Seventh Element, “Elmo”. There are four or five classical mystical elements, such as earth, fire, water, air, and ether. In the other hand, element means the chemical elements, types of atoms of which all matter consists of. The seventh element is Nitrogen, which is the most abundant element in the Earth’s atmosphere. In a way, Elmo’s name is continuing Elsi’s (Northalla Ethereal Medium) theme of air.
The slightly lighter chocolate silver spotted boy will be called Northalla Seventh Virtue, “Toivo”, suomeksi seitsemäs hyve. There are seven heavenly virtues, which are the counter-agents of the seven deadly sins. The seven virtues are chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.
The darker one of the chocolate silver spotted boys is Northalla Seventh Wonder, “Voitto”. The seven wonders of the world is a list of man-made buildings and works of art, which originated in the Ancient World. The only one remaining of the original seven wonders is the Great Pyramid of Giza. There are plenty of newer list of wonders.
The lighter colored girl is called Northalla Seventh Day, “Daisy”. Seven is a mystical number, and according to the Bible’s stories, after creating the world for six days, God had completed it, and rested on the seventh day. There are seven days in a week, since the calendar of the Romans, who named the days after the planets – their gods. According to many religions, one of the seven days is the holy day. It’s good to rest once in a while so that you have the energy to keep creating wonders again!
The darker chocolate silver spotted girl will be named Northalla Seventh Star, “Stella”. In the Northern hemisphere, one of the most well-known constellations is called Ursa Major, also known as the Big Dipper, which consists of seven stars. When a line is drawn through two of the stars, the line points straight to the Polar Star, Stella Polaris.
