Boys of the Fire Litter

The boys are 6 weeks old today! This is a very lovely age, for the little kittens are learning all kinds of stuff: hunting and killing of toys, attacking your brother with a gigantic Tiger Leap, playing with mom’s tail or your own tail… And suddenly the play is ceased and a spontaneous nap time starts. You can watch these activities in the gallery of Fire Litter!

Lily nurses her boys and takes very good care of them. Recently, Lily has also taken some time of her own, and went to outside cage just to be at peace. In the mean time, the boys’ grandfather Roope is babysitting. Roope teaches the boys to respect older cats, which is an important lesson to learn for kittens!

Three chocolate spotted generations: grandfather Roope (IP Rollick Octavarium), mother Lily (IC Northalla Peridotite) and six weeks old Jäbä (Northalla Bonfire).

The weights of Patun and Jäbä are close to 800 grams already. They have good appetites and eat basically what their mom does: chicken-based raw food (recipe on the Poseidonian website), pork heart, quality canned foods.

In the next weeks, the Fire Litter will have three de-worming treatments and two vaccinations. After those, the kittens will be ready for new homes at the age of 14-15 weeks. We have had contacts from some nice people and I hope that the boys will get to move in with them when it’s time. Unfortunately there were also people waiting for a female kitten, or a silver spotted kitten from us, but this time the gene lottery didn’t allow us those kittens. Better luck in the autumn time, when we’re planning two litters. Check the details from our kittens page!
